Every kid who makes it has someone who showed up for them. For Mark Dorris Jr., that someone was his father.
Mark Dorris Sr. showed his son what it looks like to invest in a young person: to show up, to sacrifice, and to believe before anyone else does.
Leave Your Mark Foundation carries his name forward. Every scholarship, every game day, and every kid who finds a mentor is a way of doing for other kids what Mark Sr. did for his son.
Our founder
Mark Dorris Jr.
Former collegiate athlete. Twelve years as a professional basketball player in Europe. Founder and Executive Director of LYMF.
Mark founded Leave Your Mark Foundation to honor the life and legacy of his father and to ensure financial barriers don’t stand between a child and an opportunity. After his professional career across Europe, he came home with a mission to use sports as a vehicle for mentorship, opportunity, and lasting change.
He believes every child deserves a coach, a mentor, and someone who believes in them. Through LYMF, he’s committed to breaking down financial barriers, empowering the next generation, and inspiring communities to leave a positive mark that extends far beyond the game.
